  1. hi to the company im a man with the sge of 28 I’m a qualified rigger section 26d staying at mpumalanga im looking for a rigging job i will be thanksfull if u can able to help with a job thsnks

  2. Howdy,

I am a former surveyor considering options for a career change, one of which is rigging. I’ve only surveyed rigs from deck level but I do all my own rigging work (except for stepping and unstepping my mast and swaging standing rigging). I singlehand a blue water cruiser and THOROUGHLY understand the importance of layout, chafe, serviceable equipment fit for its intended use, etc., and am regular crew on a race boat so I’m also familiar with the opposite extreme 1.1 factor of safety. Additionally, I am an ABYC trained Corrosion Technician so I am intimate with the problems of SS.

My question is: What does the job pay? Salary.com doesn’t recognize rigging as a career, and this page is the best lead I could find for info. What would be reasonable starting pay – I’m far from a “skilled and experienced rigging technician” but given some (well, a lot, ) of the work I’ve seen, I’m much more careful, skilled and experienced than many who are working in the field. I am a fast learner and hard-working – what could I expect for pay after a year? In five years?

Your company sounds awesome! Too bad it snows in MD, I would be knocking on your door long before Sock Burning. And huge compliments plus many thanks for your amazing and educational web site – it is going to take quite a while to peruse it.

    1. Thanks for contacting us Priscilla and thank you for the kind words. Sorry for the late reply, we’ve been a bit swamped. We just hired this week, so I am not ready to hire just yet. Please email us your resume as I have a rolling file that I return to come hire time. Thank you for your interest.

      ~T.R.C.

PS – Pay would range from $13-$30 per hour. Snow time is our busy time for the big jobs!

      1. Thank you kindly for the reply, which is somewhat helpful. I have less than no interest in living where it snows though, but I will gladly send you my resume if you move T.R.C. south of Interstate 10, or can arrange for the Equator to be moved about 30 degrees north. :-)
