Spar Removal and Commissioning

There are many circumstances that may require a mast to be removed. Most major services are more efficient or only possible with the mast down, and if the boat is to be transported over land the mast of course must be removed first. Having the mast removed every few years is a good preventative maintenance practice to be in as it allows for a much closer & more complete inspection of a host of systems on your vessel.

At T.R.C. we offer both mast removal and commissioning (stepping/reinstalling) services. We have traveled all over the world to perform this service for a wide range of vessels in the past. Note that prior to removing a spar, the sails must be removed. With the exception of very small boats (>25′), a crane will also be required. Most marinas and yards have crane services available – and if not, a mobile crane can be brought in.
