Chain Plate Service
The chainplate is typically a metal plate, tang, U-bolt, or eye, used to fasten a stay to the boat. One end of the chainplate has a hole for the pin of the turnbuckle, the remainder of the chainplate will be attached to the boat via a bulkhead, knee, tie rod or the hull itself. At the Rigging Company, we provide chainplate inspection, refurbishment, customization and also direct replacement.
Today’s chainplates are typically made of 316 stainless steel, aluminum and even titanium. These materials, when sourced and finished properly, will provide years of corrosion free service life. If you are in doubt as to the structural integrity of your chainplates or know you are seeking professional services for new chainplate fabrication or service, please feel free to fill out our Service Request form located on this page and we will get back to you.
