Whisker poles, while quite useful, can be a challenge to work with and store when not in use. Our on-the-mast pole systems allow the pole to be worked with easily from the mast, and allow for the pole to be stored vertically on the mast when not in use. The outboard (jaw) end of the pole stores by clamping to a metal hoop mounted at the base of the mast. When ready to deploy, unclamp the jaw end and attach the sheet. Use the pole topping lift to adjust the clew height of the outboard pole end, and use the continuous inboard control line to adjust the inboard end height.

The kit includes:

  • Forespar UTS Toggle Car
  • Schaefer 1-1/4″ T Track & end stops (8′ for small kits, 16′ for medium & large kits)
  • Harken Cam-Matic Cam Cleats, Mast Adaptor Mounts, & Eyestraps (for inboard end control line)
  • Harken Big Bullet Cheek & Single blocks (for inboard end control line purchase)
  • New England Ropes Sta-Set black 3/8″ inboard-end control line
  • Selden Loop and Support for Vertical Pole Storage
  • Assorted fasteners & sealant
  • Option to include a whisker pole, or exclude a pole if you already have one.

The kit does NOT include a pole topping lift line. Does NOT include drill bits, taps, or any other associated tools required for installation.
This kit requires drilling & tapping into the front of your mast to install. If you are not comfortable with this, please contact us to help you find a local rigger to perform installation (or consider bringing the boat to one of our locations). Installation for competent riggers should take approximately 10-12 hours. Note if installing while the mast is up, installation will require going aloft. This kit is much easier to install when the mast is down.

Small kits are suitable for boats up to 35′ and include a 10-18 Forespar Aluminum Line Control Pole.
Medium kits are suitable for boats up to 46′ and include a 13-24 Forespar Aluminum Line Control Pole.
Large kits are suitable for boats up to 55′ and include a 15-27 Forespar Aluminum Line Control Pole.

Note that whisker poles typically have to be shipped via freight carrier due to length.
