Type 316 Stainless Steel KOS (Korean) Wire in a compact strand configuration. Compact strand wire is roll-formed so that the individual strands are shaped into a smoother and more regular overall shape. Compact strand wire has a higher breaking strength & less stretch for the same diameter when compared to 1×19 wire – or a smaller diameter for the same breaking strength.

Note that compact strand wire requires special termination fittings and processes. For swage fittings, the process requires several additional steps not normally used to swage 1×19 wire; for mechanical fittings, a cone and former specially designed for compact strand must be used.
