Utilizing the same features that have made the Hi-MOD Mechanical fittings popular, this insulator has an internal ball-socket in the main body that threads onto the connecting stud. The nut is insulated from the stainless steel body by a Tufnolâ„¢ socket, preventing electrical transference to the insulator body or opposite terminal. Should, for any reason, the Tufnolâ„¢ be compromised, the nut will bottom out against the stainless housing. While the backstay will loosen, the insulating studs will remain attached to the insulator body. This allows the rig to be re-tensioned until a repair can be made. Larger sizes available.

Here at The Rigging Company, we believe Hayn’s SSB Insulator is the best on the market and absolutely worth the price premium. It is the only insulator on the market that relies on stainless steel threads instead of plastic threads (which can quickly weaken due to UV degradation) for the breaking strength of the fitting. Additionally, if it does fail, instead of losing your backstay you simply lose electrical isolation of the SSB “Antenna.”

Compression fittings are mechanical fittings, a swage fitting swages the insulator directly to wire, and fork, eye, & toggle jaw fittings are all standard rigging fittings with the respective fitting on one end and half of the insulator on the other end.

NOTES: 2 fittings are required for proper installation of an SSB “Antenna” – one for the top and one for the bottom end. Dyform/Compact strand fittings available, call for details. Compression/Mechanical & swage fittings have no pin size.
