Harken MKIV Ocean furling systems are designed specifically for cruising sailors who value strength, longevity, and ease of use. These free-rolling furlers allow headsails to be furled and reefed from the safety of the cockpit while maintaining excellent sail shape—making sail handling simpler and less physically demanding.

The MKIV Ocean line is built by Harken using the same quality standards as the original MKIV furlers, but with a simplified feature set focused on the needs of cruisers. You get Harken reliability and performance without paying for race-oriented features you may not need.

Construction & Performance

MKIV Ocean furlers are constructed from hardcoat-anodized aluminum and UV-stabilized materials for long-term durability in harsh marine environments. Multiple rows of Torlon® ball bearings minimize friction, making furling smoother and significantly reducing the effort required on the furling line.

Easy Maintenance & Long Service Life

Harken MKIV furling systems are among the few on the market that can be fully serviced. The ball bearing assembly can be disassembled, cleaned, and refitted with new bearings, dramatically extending the usable life of the furler and reducing long-term ownership costs.

Sizing & Important Notes

NOTE: The determining factor for selecting the correct unit size is the wire or rod diameter of your headstay. Boat length recommendations are general guidelines only.

  • Toggle assemblies are not included and must be purchased separately
  • Furling line is included with this furler model

Required items: A new Headstay – Lower Toggle or Link Plates

Recommend items: Lead Block Kits and/or Halyard Restrainers
