5200 Adhesive/Sealant is a one-part polyurethane compound that creates an extremely high-strength, watertight seal above and below the waterline. Provides exceptionally strong adhesion, yet stays flexible after it cures. Ideal for underwater thru-hull fittings, hull-to-deck joints, portholes and bonding wood to fiberglass. Goes on smoothly, won’t sag, and remains workable for up to 4 hours for standard-cure variants. Cures in 5-7 days with no shrinking. Tensile strength once cured of 700psi. Working time for fast-cure variants is about 15 minutes, with full cure reached in 24 hours.

At The Rigging Company, we use 5200 in applications where both a seal and a high-strength foundation are required – for example, mounting deck hardware on an uneven or curved surface. If only sealing is necessary (deck hatches, chainplates, etc) – we recommend using 3M 4000 UV. Be aware that once 5200 cures in place, removing it is extremely difficult and typically requires power tools.
