Replacement Standing Rigging – One-Ended, Cut-to-Length, Ready for Sta-Lok or Hi-Mod Mechanical Fitting

T316 Stainless Steel 1×19 wire rope with a Swaged Marine Eye | Cut-to-Length in 5-ft Increments

Why One-Ended Standing Rigging?

When looking to purchase replacement standing rigging online, the hardest part is getting the final length exactly right — especially when installing a new furler or working on an older boat.

Our one-ended standing rigging solves that problem. We professionally swage a Hayn Marine Eye on one end, then leave the opposite end unfinished so you can measure, cut, and install the final mechanical fitting once the proper length is determined.

Product Overview

This one-ended standing rigging is designed for DIY sailors replacing headstays or complete standing rigging systems where final stay length must be determined during installation.

Each stay is built from 316 stainless steel wire rope and professionally swaged with a Hayn Marine Swaged Eye on one end. The opposite end is left clean-cut and unfinished so you can install a
Hi-Mod, Sta-Lok, (click either for more info) or other swageless fitting once the exact length is confirmed on your boat.

This approach eliminates guesswork, reduces costly mistakes, and lets you complete your rigging replacement without sending wire back to a shop.

Who This Product Is For

  • Sailors replacing standing rigging themselves
  • Headstay or furler installations where final length must be set on the boat
  • Owners using Sta-Lok or other swageless fittings

What’s Included

  • 316 Stainless Steel wire rope
  • Hayn Marine Swaged Eye professionally installed on one end
  • Supplied in 5-foot length increments
  • Clean-cut, unfinished opposite end (ready for mechanical fitting)

What’s Not Included

We intentionally do not pre-install the second fitting so you can finalize length precisely after the correct length has been determined.

How to choose the proper fittings

  1. Start Before the Mast Comes Down
    • Tune the rig first so you capture the correct working length:
      • Center mast
      • Set rake and prebend
      • Tension shrouds properly
      • Label fittings and mark turnbuckle threads before disassembly
  2. Identify Chainplates / Deck attachments
    • Stainless Bar (Turnbuckle with lower threaded toggle)
    • U-Bolt (up-set double-jaw toggle and turnbuckle with threaded eye)
    • Coquille (Turnbuckle with threaded stemball, most likely a proprietary fitting. You’ll need to take some more measurements)
  3. Check Mast Attachment Points
    • Strap Tangs (Single plates for forks, double plates for eyes)
    • Nose Tangs (For Toggles)
    • Backing Plates for T Balls or Shroud Terminals
    • Stemball tangs or washers
  4. Spreader and Intermediate Details
    • Spreader tips will be continuous or discontinuous (disco, in rigging speak).
    • Important to identify spar manufacturer to ensure fitting compatibility
    • Be sure to double check pin sizes, fitting width and depth. Take pictures.
  5. Measuring Length Correctly
    • Once removed, reset turnbuckles to the marks made while tuned, then measure from pin center to pin center (or bearing pin where applicable)
  6. Choose End Fittings

And finally,
