Blue Wave Swageless Stemball Terminal For Standard 1×19 Wire

The Blue Wave Swageless Stemball Terminal provides a strong,
serviceable wire termination designed for use in stemball mast fittings.
Most commonly used as upper shroud terminations at the mast or at the
outboard ends of spreaders, stemballs create a clean, low-profile attachment
that seats securely into a matching mast socket or backing plate.

Like other Blue Wave swageless fittings, the stemball terminal installs
without hydraulic swaging equipment. An internal cone and mechanical
compression system securely captures the wire strands, allowing assembly
with standard tools. This makes it ideal for professional rigging shops,
boatyards, and sailors performing on-site rigging replacement or repairs.

Stemballs are typically used in conjunction with a matching mast socket
or backing plate. Because multiple manufacturers produce both stemballs
and backing plates, dimensional verification is critical before ordering.

Important Sizing Information

It is always prudent to confirm the exact dimensions of your existing
stemball prior to replacement. The most important measurements include:

  • Head (ball) diameter
  • Ball radius
  • Wire size compatibility (typically 1×19 stainless steel wire)

Even small dimensional differences can prevent proper seating in the
mast fitting or backing plate. When replacing an existing stemball,
measure carefully to ensure compatibility.

How It Compares

For lower shroud and stay terminations at chainplates, consider the
Blue Wave Swageless Fork Terminal or
Blue Wave Swageless Marine Eye Terminal.

For turnbuckle assemblies, see the
Blue Wave Swageless Stud Terminal or
Blue Wave Long Swageless Stud Terminal
when additional thread engagement is required.

Where articulation at the lower attachment point is critical,
the Blue Wave Swageless Eye Toggle Terminal
provides integrated alignment under load.

Why Choose a Swageless Stemball?

Stemballs are widely used in modern mast systems because they provide
a compact, aerodynamically clean termination that seats securely in
dedicated mast fittings. A swageless stemball offers the added benefit
of field serviceability without specialized swaging equipment.

For sailors upgrading standing rigging or replacing upper shroud
terminations, Blue Wave swageless stemballs provide strength,
precision fit, and the flexibility to complete the job wherever
the work needs to happen.
