The boom preventer is a traditional & highly effective system that can, if rigged properly, leave your deck clutter free. The preventer, unlike the boom brake, is to be rigged to the very outboard end of the boom via a pad eye and pendant. Many “new and improved” preventer systems exist in plan form and as actual products on the market; many of them unfortunately take shortcuts or are otherwise poorly designed such that they may cause catastrophic boom failure. Our system contains no shortcuts and properly takes into account all the little details required for a preventer system to function both safely and effectively.
